The Wine Club
Wine Courses at the David Adlard Cookery School
The David Adlard Cookery School is delighted to propose a season of tutored suppertime tastings, wine master-classes and daytime and weekend workshops. Please let us know if these would be of interest to you.

Keith Reeves
All of our wine courses will be conducted in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere with the emphasis on wine tasting, discussion and participation.
The courses are headed up by Keith Reeves, who is one of East Anglia’s foremost wine merchants. Keith, apart from regular appearances on BBC Radio, is an award winning wine
journalist providing regular features on Wine and Food for our local Eastern Daily Press.
Wine Master Class
A focused, three hour evening session from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, which includes up to six wines as well as a specially selected dinner to partner the wine styles.
The Master Class is your chance to meet the winemaker who, alongside Keith, will lead you through the history of their wines, explain the regional and national influences affecting their winemaking and grape varieties, and most importantly, conduct a tutored tasting before dinner. Once we all sit down to eat, the wines will then be partnered with each of the three selected courses, with continuous explanation of all aspects of wine and food pairing as well as ample time to ask questions of our expert. Our forthcoming events already include an evening discovering the world famous Chateau Musar wines coupled with a fabulous Lebanese feast, followed later in the year with an evening uncovering the history of Bordeaux with a host of stunning vintage clarets to partner classic British cuisine.
Tutored Tastings
A relaxed, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable way of discovering some of the world’s most famous grape varieties including supper and a range of exciting wines with which to complement our chosen cuisine. Our three hour evening courses will run throughout the year focusing on specific grape varieties; why they appeal or appal, why they come in and out of fashion and, most importantly why they taste the way they do. Each evening session will be built around three grape varieties; either red ,white or indeed rose. So, if you are confused by Chardonnay, perplexed by Pinot or muddled by Merlot this is the perfect evening for you and we promise; those wine lists need never baffle you again. Evening course will run from 7pm until 10pm.
One Day Workshops
We have concentrated a complete guide to all aspects of wine comprehension into one informative and enjoyable day. You will come away from the course with a full understanding of grape types, principal wine styles, the basics of winemaking, and a host of tips to help you select, taste and assess wines wherever you are.
The day will offer a complete overview of wines and grape varieties from both the Northern and Southern hemispheres featuring all of the major wine producing regions of the world. The day will include all wines as well as a three course lunch in The Walpole Arms restaurant. Courses run from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
Please tell us if The Wine Club is of interest to you, and which of the above types of course would be most relevant. Please write a comment below or email info@davidadlardcookeryschool.co.uk
